Katie Flowers

Katie samples for Global FinPrint in the Western Atlantic, Indian and Pacific oceans. She is also our social media manager. Katie is interested in the ecological importance of rays, ray movements, and how both topics relate to conservation. Thanks to the support and data from Global FinPrint, she worked with the Belize Fisheries Department to create the world’s first ray sanctuary, protecting all ray species in Belize waters. She is currently a PhD student using Global FinPrint data to assess the factors affecting ray incidence in the tropical Western Atlantic Ocean.
