Dr. Speed is a quantitative marine ecologist with interests in the behavioural ecology, population biology, and trophic role of marine predators. He has been actively involved in research on tropical sharks and rays over the past decade in the Indo-Pacific region. His primary research to date has focused on the drivers of reef shark movement patterns and how this information can be used to inform management and conservation. He has authored numerous articles in international scientific journals, as well as book chapters, and technical reports.
